ED Fellowship OSCE Handbook
Monash Health
ED Fellowship OSCE Handbook
This website aims to give you guidance on how to prepare for each of the OSCE station types and ultimately help you pass the exam.
This handbook is not a stand-alone guide – it must be read in conjunction with the Fellowship Examination Resources provided on the ACEM website.
Your performance in the OSCE should be the culmination of years of work in the ED. Preparation should not involve the acquisition of new book knowledge, but rather honing the skills you have been developing since you commenced ED training. If you are still studying, you are probably not ready.
This exam is challenging but if you approach it correctly most senior trainees should have a pretty decent chance of passing.
And hopefully the tips on here will help you get there!
This is a one-day course created and delivered by four of the ACEM examiners we have at Monash Health. It is open to all trainees who have passed the written, or those who will be sitting the most recent written exam (and awaiting results).
The course is specifically designed to dissect the ‘why’ and the ‘how’ of the OSCE examination, providing the background, information and hopefully some tools that can be used to prepare. It is not an OSCE practice session. Instead, we aim to provide an approach for how to prepare and what we see are the keys to success. It is highly interactive, and includes Q&A sessions with senior examiners and recent (successful) candidates.
The details of the course and the link to book a spot can be found at www.monashoscecourse.com.
